Hi! I'm Anna Chapman and I'm a fat yoga teacher, a size inclusion educator, a fat activist, podcast host, and the brand strategist for Superfit Hero.
All my life I've been fat and I’ve been obsessed with fashion. These two identities collided 7 or 8 years ago when I got fed up with not being able to fit into a pair of pants from a brick and mortar store. Since then, I have dedicated my life and my work to creating more access to spaces, movement, and fashion for the fat community.
Since that day, I've been working with brands (clothing and beyond) to help them understand and be held accountable to honoring the customers they want to engage with (US!). When I met Micki from Superfit Hero, I thought she was just as wild as I was… HUGE PLUS! But more importantly I felt for one of the few times in my career that my experience and this community was really really important and that we were gonna do big things together!
In working with Superfit Hero we did an extensive amount of research to make sure we were really making a shift in sizing that our customers needed. We pulled together an amazing group of humans ranging from sizes L-7XL to help us land on the right fit! Working remotely with our 5XL-7XL folks to ensure the fit, fabric, and style actually worked both in the performance and athleisure space. These guides are at the heart of this collection. They gave feedback, did virtual fittings, and even helped influence the new names of our sizes (s/o to Ash @fatlippodcast for permission to use terms shared in their piece: Beyond Superfat: Rethinking the Farthest End of the Fat Spectrum!).
This collection and working with Superfit Hero means everything to me because we get to put care at the heart of everything we do. It is a dream come true to see beautiful fat bodies in pieces that fit their every curve and I can’t wait to continue to meet the needs of our community and to continue to feature and highlight amazing leaders in this space! 🥰 It's so lovely to meet you all!
